(Main) > Escape to Nature

Escape to Mauritius – the exhibition of large-format photographs taken from land, the ocean depths and from the sky, by Petra Doležalová and Libor Špaček, which will take place in the cloisters of the Frantiscan Monastery at Jungmannovo Náměstí, Prague, from 5 August to 13 September 2009.

The exhibition devoted to the island of Mauritius is part of the extended project, Escape to Nature, in which the authors try to capture the most beautiful places on the planet using cameras and video cameras, with a focus on the underwater world. A documentary presentation of the same name will be included in the Escape to Mauritius exhibition, which will reveal the secrets of a great legend. Michal Pavlíček, the leading Czech composer, is involved in the poetical, mysteriously tuned video. Much of the footage was taken on night dives, and also reveals behind-the-scenes filming. Visitors can also look forward to a short montage in the form of an underwater opera, in which a fifteen year old laced moray is king, in another projection at the gallery.
